since there is a common ratio r, you can find k by solving
(2k-4)/(k-3) = (4k-3)/(2k-4)
Now you can determine r, and
S8 = (k-3)(r^8-1)/(r-1)
(2k-4)/(k-3) = (4k-3)/(2k-4)
Now you can determine r, and
S8 = (k-3)(r^8-1)/(r-1)
