I mean... technically true, but animals DO eat animals that don't eat plants... however, just looking at a food chain/web you can tell that all sources of energy can be traced back to the plants so... Idk, depends on the context!

Your technically true is based on the food chain. In my opinion, the food chain has nothing to do with the question. The question is about the LAST animal eating his/her meals and what his/her lunch had for its lunch.. It isn't asking what the 100th animal BEFORE had for lunch.
