Two objects are 5 m high. One is dropped and another one is launched horizontally at a speed of 7 m/s.Which one hits the ground first? Explain.

The second object might have a horizontal velocity, but that does not affect the fact that its vertical velocity is still 0. Since both objects are at the same height and have an intial vertical velocity of 0, they will hit the ground at the same time.
