find the dot product of u and
u=(4,5) v=(-3,-7)
u=(-2,7) v=(-5, -8)
u=(-4i, -9j) v=(-3i-2j)
u=(2i-4j) v=(-8i+7j)
u=(4,5) v=(-3,-7)
u=(-2,7) v=(-5, -8)
u=(-4i, -9j) v=(-3i-2j)
u=(2i-4j) v=(-8i+7j)

clearly you have not read about the dot product.
(a,b)•(c,d) = (ac,bd)
So, for example,
(4,5)•(-3,-7) = (-12,-35)
do the rest in like wise.
when using i and j, the parentheses are not needed. Surely your text shows this notation.
