If there are 7x boys and 4x girls, then
7x = 4x+9
solve for x, and then there are 11x children.
7x = 4x+9
solve for x, and then there are 11x children.

(x+9)/x = 7/4
4x+36 = 7x
X = 12 girls.
x+9 = 12+9 = 21 boys.
