Debbie is 16 years younger than Asher. Three years from now, Asher will be three times as old as Debbie. How old is Asher now?

d = a-16
a+3 = 3(d+3)
so,
a+3 = 3(a-16+3)
a+3 = 3a-39
2a = 42
a = 21
