I Think as long as you stay safe while talking to them. Make sure if you are talking on a social media app that it really is them and not a creepy person. As long as your parents are okay with it as well.

I think it's okay if they have proof for who they are, like if they have a tiktok and post their face for that you can hear thier voices , friends online can be helpful but also dangerous depending on where you meet them
