Solve the polynomial equation by factoring
2x^3 - 5x^2 - 3x = 0
Baby steps please...I believe answer is
X= 0, 3, -1/2
But I don't know why
Thank you!

first take out a common factor of x
x(2x^2 - 5x - 3) = 0
x(x-3)(2x+1) = 0 , I assume you know how to factor quadratic trinomials
set each factor equal to zero
x = 0
x-3 = 0 ---> x = 3
2x+1 = 0 ----> x = -1/2
x(2x^2 - 5x - 3) = 0
x(x-3)(2x+1) = 0 , I assume you know how to factor quadratic trinomials
set each factor equal to zero
x = 0
x-3 = 0 ---> x = 3
2x+1 = 0 ----> x = -1/2
