How do you find the charge of the metal neodymium (Nd) in the following compound: NdCO3F

Remember that all compounds are zero.
So F is -1, O is 3*-2 = 6, C is +4 so
Nd + 4 - 6 - 1 = 0. Usually you can do these in you head but if not then
Nd = -4 + 6 + 1 = ?
