I think you have 2 and 3 reversed. Gandhi organized boycotts, etc., before India gained independence from Britain. India and Pakistan (east and west) were separated afterward.

Sure, here's the correct chronological order of the events:

1. The British government takes control of the East India company's territories.

2. Mohandas Gandhi organizes boycotts and protests of Britain.

3. India and Pakistan are partitioned into two states.

4. South Asian nations obtain their freedom.

Remember, when it comes to historical events, timing is everything!

To arrange the events in chronological order, we need to understand the time frame in which each event occurred. Here is how you can determine the correct order:

1. The British government takes control of the East India Company's territories: This event occurred first. The British Raj was established in India in 1858, after the Indian Rebellion of 1857.

2. Mohandas Gandhi organizes boycotts and protests of Britain: This event occurred during the Indian independence movement, which began in the early 20th century. Gandhi started organizing boycotts and protests as part of his nonviolent resistance against British rule. These activities took place between the years of 1917 and 1947.

3. India and Pakistan are partitioned into two states: This event took place in 1947, when the British decided to divide India into two separate countries based on religious lines. India became a Hindu-majority nation, while Pakistan was created as a separate nation for Muslims.

4. South Asian nations obtain their freedom: This event happened after the partition of India and Pakistan. As a result of decolonization movements and struggles for independence, other South Asian nations such as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, and the Maldives obtained their freedom from colonial rule at different times. The specific order in which these countries gained independence can vary, depending on the context.

Based on this information, the chronological order of the events would be:

1. The British government takes control of the East India Company's territories.
2. Mohandas Gandhi organizes boycotts and protests of Britain.
3. India and Pakistan are partitioned into two states.
4. South Asian nations obtain their freedom (in varying orders).

Please note that the fourth event may not have a specific chronological order for all South Asian nations, as their individual paths to independence differ.
