When 12.0g of Zn reacts, what volume in L, of hydrogen gas is produced at 24 degrees Celsius and 835mm Hg?

1 answer

Zn + 2HCl ==> ZnCl2 + H2
mols Zn = grams/atomic mass = 12.0/65.38 = ?
From the equation, 1 mol Zn = 1 mol H2.
Then PV = nRT. Substitute P, n R, T and solve for V.
Remember to use T in kelvin.
