The inequality 70°< x < 80° represents the range of the ideal water temperature, in degrees Fahrenheit, for Sammy's fish.
Which statement is true about the situation?
A. The ideal water temperature is less than 70°F
B. The ideal water temperature is greater than 80 °F
C. The ideal water temperature is between 70 °F and 80 °F
D. The ideal water temperature is less than 70 °F and 80 °F
(I think it could be B or C I need help)
Jay is 3 years less than Nelly's age ( n ). Which expression represents Jay's age?
A. 3 - 4n
B. 3n - 4
C. 4n - 3
D. 4n + 3
(I would say C but I'm not sure)
Which equation has the same solution as x - 12 = 40?
A. x/2 = 14
B. x + 12 = 40
C. 12 - x = 40
D. x/4 = 30
(I have no clue I spent a while on this question)

    70°< x < 80° means temp is between 70 and 80
Jay is 3 years less than Nelly's age ( n ) ----> was expecting to see
n-3 , but that is not there!
x - 12 = 40 ----> x = 52
this does NOT satisfy any of the equations in the choices,
so the question is bogus

    nope,
as I said x=52, the solution to the given equation, does not work in any of the choices.
What else is there to say?
Either you made an error in typing it, or else the question is not valid.
