1/4 is the same as 2/8. 2/8+1/8=3/8, and 8/8-3/8=5/8. So only 5/8 of the total 96 still haven't given their speeches. 5/8 of 96 would be 60. 60 students are left.

Ajl's answer is incorrect
yesterday 1/4 o 96 or 24 gave their speeches, so
the number who have not given their speeches is 72
Today 1/8 of the 72 gave their speeches or 9 gave their speech.
leaving 63 not yet having given their speeches.
or
(1-14)(1 - 18)(96)
= (3/4)(7/8)(96) = 63
yesterday 1/4 o 96 or 24 gave their speeches, so
the number who have not given their speeches is 72
Today 1/8 of the 72 gave their speeches or 9 gave their speech.
leaving 63 not yet having given their speeches.
or
(1-14)(1 - 18)(96)
= (3/4)(7/8)(96) = 63
