53% Al so 47% O
Take 100 g sample gives
53 g Al
47 g O.
Convert to mols. x = atomic mass Al.
53/x = ?
47/16 = 2.94
For the formula to be Al2O3, ? must be 2.94*(2/3) = 1.96
Then (53/x) = 1.94 so x = 27
