The New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife keeps track of the beaver population in the Raritan River. They tagged 42 beavers and released them. A week later, they captured 54 beavers, including 14 tagged beavers. What is a good estimate of the beaver population in the Raritan River?

There are approximately ___ beavers in the Raritan River.

assuming the same percentage tagged,
since 42 is 3*14, there must have been 3*54 beavers in all, right?
Or, what they're probably looking for,
42/x = 14/54
