You want to tile your 12 ft. by 14 ft. kitchen with 2 ft. by 2 ft. tiles. How much would it cost to tile the floor if each tile costs $2.40?

Find the area of the kitchen and divide that by the area of one tile. This would mean 168/4 which is 42. Then multiply 42 by $2.40 to get $100.80 for the total cost.

Hope this helps.
