I solved (2x-8)/z=y, and got 2yz-8=x as an answer, which my teacher said was wrong. What would the right answer be then? What did I do wrong? Thanks!

Are you solving for x ?
then multiply both sides by z
2x- 8 = yz
2x = yz + 8
x = (yz + 8)/2
