Colton stands on the middle rung of a ladder attached to a jungle gym. He climbs up 3 rungs then down 4. After looking for a moment he climbs up 5 more rungs and stops. After climbing up the final 3 rungs he reaches the top of the ladder. How many rungs does this ladder have?
If each rung is 8 inches from the previous one (and the first is 8 inches off the ground) then how tall in feet is the ladder?

hmmm. Is is to hard to start at the middle, and then calculate
3-4+5+3 = 7
So, there were 7 rungs above, and thus 7 rungs below, making 15 in all.
I expect you can figure the 2nd part.
