rewriting it with proper order of operation included:
x + 1/3 - [11 - x/3 - 1/4] = 3x - 1/3
x + 1/3 - [43/4 - x/3] = 3x - 1/3
x + 1/3 - 43/4 + x/3 = 3x - 1/3
multiply each term by 12, the LCD
12x + 4 - 129 + 4x = 36x - 4
-20x = 121
x = -121/20
