use logs
log(x^(1/8) ) = log 32
(1/8) logx = log32
logx = 8log32
= ...
then antilog, or 2ndF of log or whatever your calculator says
btw, x will be huge
perhaps you had a typo and you meant x^5 = 32
in that case
x^5 = 2^5 --->x = 2

x^(1/8) means the 8th root of x.
So, x = 32^8
So, x = 32^8
