as with all addition of fractions, first you must find the common denominator.
Here, that is (x+3)(x-3)
2/(x+3) - 5/(x-3)
= (2(x-3)-5(x+3))/((x+3)(x-3))
= (2x-6-5x-15)/(x^2-9)
= (-3x-21)/(x^2-9)
= -3(x+7)/(x^2-9)
Here, that is (x+3)(x-3)
2/(x+3) - 5/(x-3)
= (2(x-3)-5(x+3))/((x+3)(x-3))
= (2x-6-5x-15)/(x^2-9)
= (-3x-21)/(x^2-9)
= -3(x+7)/(x^2-9)
