calculate the frequency of an Infrared light of wave number 2200cm^-1

3 answers

frequency = speed / wavelength = c / 2200 cm = 3E10 / 2.2E3
That is :
3×10^8/2.2×10^-3 = 1.36×10^11
Hope am correct
my bad ... the wave NUMBER is waves per cm ... not the wave length

frequency = speed * wavenumber = 3E8 * 2.2E3

sorry about that
