Hi, I completely understand that you're lost. The way this school "teaches" is by giving assignments with little to no guidance. Its just a bunch of reading and answering. The education system is already bad enough, this just makes it worse. We only take in about 20% of what we actually read. Discussions are WAY better, it actually gets kids thinking about what they are being asked. Anyway, having said that, I also think you should try to educate yourself! Take what they are giving you, and do your own research. Watch videos if it makes it easier to understand, or discuss the questions with a friend! You deserve to pass, so do your best and take it in your own hands.
