A lightweight, frictionless pulley is mounted on the corner of a tall cabinet. A 7 kg cylinder is released from rest 2.4 m above the ground. The cylinder is attached by string to a 3 kg block on a car with lightweight wheels. Find the acceleration of the objects and the tension in the line.
I already understand how to find the acceleration. I know its a = mg/(m + m), and that with sig figs it would be 7 m/s^2, but I don't get how to find the tension of the line. Please help! Thanks.
