you are correct if you start your sequence with n=0

Usually, though, sequences start with n=1 unless otherwise stated. The terms are
a_1, a_2, ...

Your choice was D
When n = 1, your first term would be 5 + 8(1) = 13
so it can't be D

Which of the given expressions will yield 5 when n = 1 ?
and 797 when n = 100 ?
