If I had been a United States citizen in 1807, I would have supported the war against Great Britain after the attack on the Chesapeake because Great Britain had opened fire against the United States and killed three crew members. The attack was an outrage and was not necessary, so we should have declared war on the British for damaging our ship and the members.
