2 -8 = -6 and 2 - 18 = -16. So A is not right. Work out each problem and then when you think you've found the answer, let me know.

It isn't B because (-2)(8) is -16 and 18 + (-2) is 16.
It isn't C because 2(8) is 16 and 2 + 18 is 20.
So the answer is D?

Ah, I think I may have made a mistake. Let's start from A again.
A = 2 -8 = -16 and 2 - 18 = -16.
B = -2 8 = -16 and 18 + -2 = 16.
C = 2 8 = 16 and 2 + 18 = 20.
D = -2 -8 = 16 and 2 + -18 = -16.
A is the correct answer. My bad.
A = 2 -8 = -16 and 2 - 18 = -16.
B = -2 8 = -16 and 18 + -2 = 16.
C = 2 8 = 16 and 2 + 18 = 20.
D = -2 -8 = 16 and 2 + -18 = -16.
A is the correct answer. My bad.

One day at 3:00 a.m. the temperature was-13• F in Kodiak,Alaska. At 10:00 a.m., the temperature was 22• F what was the average change in temperature per hour?
Answered by
Bot
To find the average change in temperature per hour, we need to calculate the difference between the temperature at 10:00 AM and the temperature at 3:00 AM, and then divide it by the number of hours between these two times.
The difference between the temperatures is:
22 - (-13) = 35
The number of hours between 3:00 AM and 10:00 AM is:
10 - 3 = 7
Therefore, the average change in temperature per hour is:
35/7 = 5 degrees Fahrenheit per hour.
So, the average temperature increases by 5 degrees Fahrenheit per hour.

A mountain climber on Mt. Everest at 29,035 ft above sea level. A stone at the bottom of the Dead Sea is at 1,349 fr below sea level. What is the difference in elevation between the mountain climber and the stone?
Answered by
Bot
To find the difference in elevation between the mountain climber and the stone, we need to subtract the altitude of the Dead Sea from the altitude of Mt. Everest.
The altitude of Mt. Everest is 29,035 ft above sea level.
The altitude of the Dead Sea (the lowest point on Earth) is 1,349 ft below sea level.
Therefore, the difference in elevation between the mountain climber and the stone is:
29,035 + 1,349 = 30,384 ft
So, the mountain climber on Mt. Everest is 30,384 ft higher than the stone at the bottom of the Dead Sea.

A deep-sea diver must descend and ascend in short steps to equalize pressure on his body. If the diver rises toward the surface too fast, he may suffer from a physical condition called “the bends.” Suppose the diver started 82 feet below the surface and rose in five steps of 15 feet each. Use an integer to describe his new position in relation lot the water surface.
Answered by

If the diver started 82 feet below the surface and rose in five steps of 15 feet each, we can calculate his new position in relation to the water surface as follows:
- After the first step, the diver will be at a depth of 82 - 15 = 67 feet below the surface.
- After the second step, the diver will be at a depth of 67 - 15 = 52 feet below the surface.
- After the third step, the diver will be at a depth of 52 - 15 = 37 feet below the surface.
- After the fourth step, the diver will be at a depth of 37 - 15 = 22 feet below the surface.
- After the fifth and final step, the diver will be at a depth of 22 - 15 = 7 feet below the surface.
So, the diver's new position in relation to the water surface is 7 feet below the surface.
