Across a horizontal distance of 25 feet, a roller coaster has a steep drop. The height of the roller coaster at the bottom of the drop is -125 feet, compared to its height at the top of the drop. What is the average amount that the roller coaster's height changes over each horizontal foot?

so for a horizontal distance (run) of 25 ft, there is a vertical change (rise) of 125 ft.
So you are basically just asking for the slope, which is rise/run
= 125/25 or 5/1
So for every horizontal 1 foot change, the coaster drops 5 ft.
You could say , avg change = -125/5 = -5 , where the -5 shows a decrease in the vertical.
