is this sentence correct?
Barlow uses a logical argument because cyber security is a relatively new issue, meaning many people will not be properly informed on the topic.

If you put a colon after "argument" AND OMIT "because" -- then yes, it'll be fine. And since what comes after the colon will be a complete sentence, be sure to capitalize the C on cyber.
