Use - for subtraction
#1, if you get 0=0, there will be an infinite number of solutions
(You are intersecting a line with itself, really just have one line)

3x+y=4 or y = 4 -3x
-3x=y-7 or y = 7-3x
then 4-3x = 7-3x
4 = 7 , contradiction, so there is no solution.
(So you actually trying to intersect two distinct separate lines)
