a tennis racket costs $12 more then a hockey stick . if the price of the two is $31 find the cost of the tennis racket

The tennis racket costs the price of the hockey stick plus 12 ... so
h +12
TOGETHER so add them they are ....
(hockey stick) + (tennis racket) = $31
h + h + 12 = 31
now solve for h : )
