The President can veto a law passed by Congress. It takes 2/3 vote of both houses to override this veto.

While the president has the power to veto bills and prevent them from becoming law, he can be overruled by a two-thirds majority in both chambers of Congress. If the Congress believes the President is overstepping his bounds, it has the right to override him. A statute can also be overturned by the Supreme Court if it is found to be unjust.
