Would the answer be:
2/3=12/18=30 cups of batter total
So we need 18 cups of banana batter is this correct?

If you run into a problem that doesn't seem as obvious -- here's how to solve it.

3/5 = x/30

Cross multiply and solve for x

5x = 90

x = 18

I don't like the way your are writing this.
You said : 2/3=12/18=30 , that is totally false.
Mathematics is a precise language.

amount of strawberries --- 2x cups
amount of banana ---- 3x cups , notice 2x : 3x = 2:3
2x+3x = 30
5x = 30
x = 6

so strawberry ----- 2x = 2(6) = 12 cups
banana ------------ 3x = 18 cups
