this is what i did:

i used the quadratic formula and this is what i ended up with.

x = -8 +- (sqrt(16))/(2)

Which is -8 +-2

Or you could have factored the quadratic
(x+10)(x+6)

Which is -8 +-2

Or you could have factored the quadratic
