Two cars are side by side. One is 3.9 meters long. The other is 6% shorter. How long is the second car?

I know the answer is 3.7, but how?

If it's 6% shorter, then it is 94% as long

3.9 * 0.94 = 3.666 or 3.7

subtract 6 from 100 its 94.
turn it to a decimal by dividing 94/100 = .94
