The following points are plotted on a coordinate plane:(-1,2),(-1,7), and (4,2). If the points are connected by straight lines, which shape will they form?

I would strongly suggest you actually do the plotting and see what turns up.
Surely you know how to plot points, and know the names of the different triangles.

Makes a lot of sense to me.
<b>Without even graphing it</b>, did you notice
that for the points (-1,2),(-1,7), and (4,2)
the first two have the same x of -1, so they form a vertical line, and
for the first and the last, they have the same y, so they form a
horizontal line.

Of course it is right-angled, two sides are perpendicular.
