the obvious answer, though probably not technically correct, is gotten by dividing the total area by the area required by each plant. That would be
π*140^2 / π*0.5^2 = (140/0.5)^2 = 78,400

The question required the number of plants around the shape and not the number of plants occupied in whole circular shape
ooops - my bad. So, divide the circumference by the plant's diameter.
