In a football game, a quarterback throws a pass from the 5 yard line (10 yards from the sideline). The pass is caught by on the 45 yard line (40 yards from the same sideline). How long was the pass in yards?

y distance = 40
x distance = 30
d = sqrt (40^2 + 30^2) the hypotenuse
= 50
I suspect (3,4,5 triangle)
