Try first with a number...
say 7
first multiply by 2, that is 7x2=14
subtract 8, that is 14-8=6
divide by 2, that is 6/2= 3
add 4, that is 3 + 4 = 7
So what happened to your original number??
say 7
first multiply by 2, that is 7x2=14
subtract 8, that is 14-8=6
divide by 2, that is 6/2= 3
add 4, that is 3 + 4 = 7
So what happened to your original number??

x = your number
( x * 2 - 8 ) / 2 + 4 = x * 2 / 2 - 8 / 2 + 4 = x - 4 + 4 = x
( x * 2 - 8 ) / 2 + 4 = x * 2 / 2 - 8 / 2 + 4 = x - 4 + 4 = x
