How do you factor c^2+3c-1? Thanks for your help -Elise

there are no rational factors,
since no tow rational numbers have a product of -1 and a sum of 3

If you want factors with irrational numbers in them, I would solve
c^2 + 3c - 1 = 0 and find root1 and root2
and then the factors would be
(c-root1)(c-root2)
