Choose correctly if the sentence uses semicolons correctly or incorrect if is does not.

1:We travel by car on the other hand;our parents went by plane.(incorrect*)

2:On our trip through New England, we stopped at Boston, Massachusetts; keene, New Hampshire; and Rutland, Vermont.(correct*)

Are these correct?

Is one correct, because it says, on the other hand?

In #1, the semicolon should be BEFORE "on the other hand," and there should be a comma after "hand." Also, there needs to be a space after the semicolons, just as there should be after just about all marks of punctuation.

The original #1 is incorrect, as you stated. Now ... what about #2?
