A piece of ribbon is 4 yards long, with no ribbon left over. If each piece is 9 inches ong, what is the value of x?

I suppose x is supposed to represent the number of pieces of ribbon.

Total length = 9yards*36inches/yard=144 inches.

Length of each piece = 9 inches/piece

Number of pieces
=144 inches / (9 inches/piece)
= 16 pieces
