the sum of the ages of petra and her mother 44. her mother is 8 years more than twice as old as petra. how old are petra and her mother.

this dont make sense so pls help me on this math question help me asap pls and ty

I just did.

If Petra is 12 then her mother must be 32 I think.

If her mother is 8 yrs more than twice as old as Petra then here is the math:

Twice as old as Petra: 12+12=24

8yrs more than twice: 24+8=32

So Petra's Mother is 32 years old.
