four yrs ago, Katie was twice as old as Anne was then. In 6 yrs, Anne will be the same age that Katie is now.How old is each now

K and A are their present ages

K - 4 = 2 (A - 4)

K = A + 6

substituting ... A + 6 - 4 = 2 A - 8

solve for A, then substitute back to find K
