What part of this problem don't you understand?
Answered by
Damon - need same power of ten
Now put them in scientific notation
8.005*10^2 * 2*10^6
= 8.005*2 * 10^(2+6) remember a^b * a^c = a^(b+c)
= 16.010 *10^8
but 16 is 1.6*10^1
so
1.6010 *10^9
8.005*10^2 * 2*10^6
= 8.005*2 * 10^(2+6) remember a^b * a^c = a^(b+c)
= 16.010 *10^8
but 16 is 1.6*10^1
so
1.6010 *10^9

when it wants me to multiply 800.5 times the expression. like how would i do that?
Answered by
Damon - my way
You turn 800.5 into 8.005*10^2
so now you have
8.005 * 10^2 * 2 * 10^6
which is
8.005*2 * 10^8
so now you have
8.005 * 10^2 * 2 * 10^6
which is
8.005*2 * 10^8

Oh alright so i got 1.601 *10^9 or do i round it if it is like that ? 1.6 * 10^9
Answered by
Damon
as you can see right away this is about 16 * 10^8
but have to turn that 16 into 1.6 * 10^1 because number must be between 1 and 10
so
1.6 * 10^1 * 10^8
is
1.6 * 10^9
but have to turn that 16 into 1.6 * 10^1 because number must be between 1 and 10
so
1.6 * 10^1 * 10^8
is
1.6 * 10^9
