Start by determining how much paint is needed for the 7 chairs, that is 7 x 1/9. Then check if 3/4 is smaller or bigger then the amount needed for 7 chairs)

(3/4)gal / (1/9)gal/chair = 3/4 * 9/1 = 27/4 = 6 3/4 Chairs.
