How can you tell if a number is a multiple of 6?

1 answer

If you have a calculator, then divide the number by 6, and if it comes up with no decimals behind it, it is a multiple.
Another way is to figure out if it is a multiple of both 2 and 3. If it is a multiple of 2, it is an even number. If the digits in the number add up to 3 or a multiple of 3 (12 = 1 + 2 = 3, or 18 = 1 + 8 = 9 Both multiples of 3). 24 = 2 + 4 = 6.
Remember, it has to meet both of these criteria.

Good luck!
