Question
Just need some help. My teacher likes to throw in advice on each problem, but they confuse me more. On this one he said multiply by 3 since volume is given. I know my formula is V=1/3bh, but does his advice mean multiply the base Ă—3 and then plug in to my formula? I'm confused on what to multiply by 3. Thank you for any help.
The volume of a square pyramid is 75 cubic feet. The base area is 15 square feet. What is the height of the pyramid?

solving the formula for h ... h = V / (1/3 b)
dividing by 1/3 is the same as multiplying by 3 ... h = 3 V / b
dividing by 1/3 is the same as multiplying by 3 ... h = 3 V / b
