The cells divide every 5 minutes, starting from 1. Let x equal every 5 minute period. Then:
1,000,000=1*2^x
ln 1,000,000=ln 2^x=x ln 2
x=19.93
19.93 x 5=99.66 minutes before the cell population reaches 1,000,000.
1,000,000=1*2^x
ln 1,000,000=ln 2^x=x ln 2
x=19.93
19.93 x 5=99.66 minutes before the cell population reaches 1,000,000.
