The perimeter is the distance around.
The perimeter of a the rectangle is
P = (2 * 8 1/2) + (2 * 3 3/4)
What do you get?

How did you get this? 4P = 390
P = (2 * 8 1/2) + (2 * 3 3/4)
P = 17 + 7 1/2
P = 24 1/2
P = (2 * 8 1/2) + (2 * 3 3/4)
P = 17 + 7 1/2
P = 24 1/2
